Through the ToolStripMenuItems. DropDownItems function, you can easily manipulate the sub-elements that appears as drop-down elements. Add TSMI ; 4.

The documentation isn't always super clear on how the pvParam argument is used, and some powershell snippets incorrectly pass a pointer to the value, rather than the value itself, when setting this particular flag. This ends up always being interpreted as true , i. Below is a powershell snippet that performs the call correctly.

It also includes proper error-checking, and I've tried to go for cleanliness rather than brevity, to also make it easier to add wrappers for other functionality of SystemParametersInfo , should you find some that interests you. Shout-out to pinvoke. A small price to pay for getting X-Mouse functionality. Using the method to achieve the sloppy mouse behavior, that I'm so accustomed to, from previous versions of windows and linux from the post.

I do not experience issue 2 that you are having. Issue 1 that you and all will have when using this registry modification is not an issue. It does exactly as expected because you have changed the way focus is handled in windows with this modification.

Using the windows key brings the mouse into the start menu not the search menu so it gets focus, not the search menu. I haven't found these workarounds anywhere on the internet yet, so I'll document here for others. Switching to another window when there are multiple windows available via the app icon in the taskbar:. Do NOT click the app icon in the taskbar before trying to select a window. If you do, as soon as you move the mouse pointer above the taskbar, the windows will disappear.

Just hover above the app icon until the windows appear, then you can move the pointer into the one you need. This seems independent from Xmouse functionality and ON seems to be the default.

A workaround for issue 1 is to click the magnifying glass search instead. WinAero Xmouse Tuner used to have a minimum of ms, but it is now lowered to a minimum of ms in WinAero Tweaker due to overwhelming requests. It is still not possible to lower it to below ms but there might be a good reason for that.

But seriously, for sometime Microsoft has recommended people to lo use some kind of Windows Script Host pt for tasks that involve the windows graphical interface. Batch commands are butter used for things that stay at the condom line. That's all. Nothing complicated Thank you for your thoughts.

I'm ashamed to say that I don't know what 'Windows Script Host pt' is although I can probably find out elsewhere on this forum!

It was not my intent to turn you away from Batch files. Really, the WSH can be part of a batch file.

Here is an article about how Microsoft introduced Windows Script Host many years ago, The goal was to extend the power of batch to include some syntax from other kinds of tools. I bought this software years ago and use it for making a stand alone exe to run on other systems or same system.

A macro to complete this could be made in as little as 3 minutes. Thats why I like it so much is because otherwise your spending hours writing code and debugging to get it right. This tool you can just say start recording the process. And then every movement, mouse click, and keyboard action is recorded in realtime until you select to end the recording. You can then play it back and it will perform exactly what you did. You can then either compile it into an EXE to share with other systems, or you can go in and look at the macro instruction list and edit it to change time delays to make it run faster if you want it to get to an icon and point and click to trigger it faster than your initial recorded motion of your hand to mouse etc, as well as you can add a loop instruction in it with a counter if you want to get advanced and customize it to run X-many times, or infinite loop to run non stop until an abort key is entered ending the macro.

Thank you Geek After Dark! We don't have an internal IT department I'm as close as it gets, and I'm just not afraid to try things I AM a good 'monkey' Not necessarily the 'cleanest' or 'prettiest', but usually with luck functional.

I appreciate your ideas! Thank you, Dave Lembke. As DaveLembke said , a macro keystroke recorder might help in some cases. Some other things for future reference. There are a number of ways surrogate programs will imitate the typing of a real person. This is useful of applications that only take input from the keyboard. And there is more I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.

Thank you, Geek! I'll check those out.
